These terms govern your use of reader.me, a free suite of PDF tools that run entirely in your browser. We also include here the legal identification of the service provider required under Spanish LSSI-CE Law 34/2002. reader.me is provided as a free service with no warranties — read these terms before using it.
1. Who we are (legal notice)
In compliance with Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), the entity behind reader.me is:

reader.me is operated as a free, public-facing project by Color Vivo Internet S.L. and David Carrero (founder). Hosting is provided by Stackscale (Grupo Aire) in Spain, plus Cloudflare's global edge network for delivery.
2. About the service
reader.me is a suite of PDF tools (merge, split, compress, OCR, sign, convert, etc.) that execute entirely in your browser via WebAssembly. No file you process is uploaded to our servers, no account is required, and no payment is involved.
By using reader.me you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
3. Service provided "AS-IS" — no warranties
reader.me is provided free of charge, "as-is", "as-available", with all faults and without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Without limiting the foregoing, we expressly disclaim:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Any guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
- Any guarantee about the accuracy, completeness or reliability of any output produced by the tools.
- Any guarantee that bugs or vulnerabilities will be fixed within any specific timeframe.
You use reader.me at your own risk. Always keep a backup of important documents before processing them with any tool — including this one.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use reader.me only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You will not:
- Process documents that you do not own or for which you do not have the necessary rights.
- Use the service to infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the security of the site (e.g. DDoS, scraping at scale, reverse-engineering protections).
- Use the service for unlawful activities (money laundering, illegal content distribution, fraud, etc.).
- Misrepresent the service as your own or remove our copyright and trademark notices.
We reserve the right to limit access (e.g. block abusive IPs at the CDN level) without notice to protect the service for other users.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Color Vivo Internet S.L., its founders, employees and partners shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages.
- Loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or any other commercial damages.
- Document corruption, lost work, or output that does not meet your expectations or legal requirements.
- Damages arising from the use or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, the above limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part where such limitation is prohibited by law.
6. Intellectual property
The reader.me name, logo, design and underlying website code (excluding open-source dependencies that retain their original licenses) are property of Color Vivo Internet S.L. The icon and wordmark are visible in our press kit; use for editorial purposes is allowed following the guidelines documented there.
The PDF tools rely on open-source libraries — PDF.js (Apache 2.0), pdf-lib (MIT), Tesseract.js (Apache 2.0) — which we use under their respective licenses. Full attribution is in the page source.
You retain all rights to documents you process. We claim no copyright, license or right of any kind over your input or output files. Since we never see them, that would be technically impossible.
7. Links to external sites
These pages link to third-party sites (Color Vivo, Stackscale, regulatory authorities, vendor documentation, etc.) provided for information. We are not responsible for the content, terms or privacy practices of external websites.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute arising from the use of reader.me will be submitted to the courts of Ciudad Real, Spain, with express waiver of any other jurisdiction, except in cases where Spanish or EU consumer protection law grants a different jurisdiction to the consumer.
For EU users, this does not affect your right to refer the dispute to a Spanish court, your local consumer protection authority, or the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or operational practice. Material changes are communicated via the site banner. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page indicates the version.
Continued use of reader.me after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, please stop using the service.
