Is reader.me really free?
Yes, completely free with no usage limits and no account required. All 32 tools are available without sign-up.
Will my PDFs be uploaded to a server?
No. Every tool runs 100% in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device — you can verify this in your browser's DevTools Network tab.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit, reader.me works completely offline as an installable PWA. Add it to your home screen on mobile or desktop.
What's the file size limit?
50 MB per file on the web, with up to 20 files per merge operation. For larger batches or multi-GB files, install Reader Desktop (coming in Phase 2).
How is reader.me different from iLovePDF or SmallPDF?
Those services upload your PDF to their servers, then process it remotely. reader.me processes everything in your browser — that's not a marketing claim, it's an architectural fact.
